I am walking my way to help defeat ALS. Why? Because I have friends who have been/are affected by ALS.

I am walking in honor of my friend, Helen. We met 5 years ago at a Walk to Defeat ALS and became friends. 

We had several things in common including October birthdays (1 day apart), love dogs, and the outdoors.

I ask you to join me to register and support my APP2Speak team to achieve our goal.

I really need you on my team. I've seen first hand as a licensed Speech Pathologist and friend how ALS takes away the ability to talk, eat and eventually breathe. There is no cure.  

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
